I have a new Asus X54L-BBK4.  I ust noticed that the battery light is flashing orange and green.
Also the light next to it, it has a cylinder next to it (is this for the hard drive?), is blinking.
While the battery light goes simply orange/green/orange/green,
the other one flashes green just for a fraction of a second with longer pauses in between
and at an arythmic rate.
weird.
 
I saw that yesterday and wasn't too worried, except that now I saw my screen flash orange,
randomly.
I was looking for a way to run tests in the start menu.
Is there some part of Windows
which runs tests for battery operation/status?
 
One thing comes to mind...
I have no screen saver running and set my display so that
the programs I have running will display without interruption.
I also have the power set
to simply stay on, without sleeping, hibernating, or shutting down.
(Do I need to have
regular shut downs or something? - I remember in the computer lab at school, all the
computers were left on constantly even overnight.)
 
Anyhow I need to have a constant screen display.
