Browsing History - Why no history of visited websites on IE8 - Windows 7?

Why is there no browsing history being logged for me (administrator account) on my new Windows 7 PC using IE8? 
Yes, I have set days to keep history not equal to zero and I even tried a “reset” of IE8. 
The only thing that is visible on the history tab is the “search history pull down” and there are not other options on this pull down.
Note – The history feature IS working for the other users on this PC.
I would like a solution that doesn’t involve my manual tweaking of registry values – or setting up an entirely new user account - any good ideas?

That's irrelevant.   It involves a different user profile.
What do you see if you  Run...  (e.g.
press Win-R and enter:)
    shell:History
Then you could press Alt-d  to see the path to your History.   Compare with what you see using the same procedure as another user.

In this method we will try to Boot in Safe mode with Networking and see if the error still persists.

• Search "MSCONFIG" and Open.
• Click on Boot Tab
• Tick Safe Boot in Boot Option
• Select Network.
• Click Apply and OK.
• Reboot your System.
