Can't Get Help Online in any Office Product !!! When click on "Help/Question mark" in Office programs Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, get help offline no matter what I try - help appreciated!

I can't turn Help to online in Office 2010.  When click Help question mark in any of the three Office products,  I want to be in Help Online but get message Help is offline.
I am connected to the Internet at the time.
I can't make Help come up online no
matter what I do.  There is a drop down box in bottom right corner when Help is open while in any of the Office programs.
It shows check next to "Offline".
Clicking on the online option in that box does not change anything.  In the top of the Help box says
not connected online but if click here will connect online - clicking on it does not do anything.  In each of the three Office products, in "File, Options, Trust Center, Settings, Privacy, it is set to connect online - so that is not the problem.  When I tried
searching in Help offline for the answer, answer says to go to connection option on "main Page" of Office - there is no mainpage of Office 2010 !!!!- Got Office with laptop.
When click Start, All Programs, where shows Microsoft Office and click on it , it
just expands tree to show the Office products on my computer (which includes Access also)  Help-!!! Spent three hours but no answer- thanks!!!

Manually editing the Windows registry

Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional. • Click Yes.
• A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
• Type "regedit" and hit ENTER.
• In the Registry Editor, select the Error 0x9C-related key (eg. Windows Operating System) you want to back up.
• From the File menu, choose Export.
• In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
• In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
• In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
• Click Save.
• The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
• You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.
