Can somebody explain why Word first auto corrects, then detects language?

I use a lot the "comment" feature and the story below happens to me all the time.
Any tip welcome.
 
The main text I want to comment is in French, and has French autocorrect.
I select a part of it and create a comment.
I start typing the comment in French.
For some probably very logical reason the autocorrect is in English (I guess a global variable).
As
I type the comment, it messes up all my wording.
When I end a sentence typing a dot, only then it analyzes the sentence, sees a few French words and switches the autocorrect to French.
But then it doesn't undo all the applied autocorrect leaving quite a few
mispelled words in the comment.
 
I wish setting everything to French would be the answer.
But I also comment a lot of English texts, and wouldn't want the reverse to also happen...
 
Any suggestion on helping with that?

Unformatted AutoCorrect entries are language-specific, and until Word detects the language it will use the AutoCorrect list of the default language.

Explicitly setting the language of the text in a document before typing will be easier than depending on "Detect language automatically." Modifying the Normal style as well as the Comment Text and Balloon Text styles to the language you want should help (with
a particular document that is).

Machine Throttling

• Click the Start button.
• In the Search box, type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• Look for the following registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions".
• On the right window pane, delete the subkey: "Machine Throttling".
• Restart your computer.
